Villiers Hotel

Villiers is a town-centre hotel in Buckingham, and its photos come from the building’s own quirks rather than acres of grounds. The view straight down the spiral staircase, with you both small at the bottom, is one of the best pictures in the place. There’s decent window light in the rooms, a corridor hung with pictures, and tall Crittall windows with a red rail to lean on.

The red-carpeted entrance steps have room for the whole wedding party, and the Old Town Hall across the way gives you red brick and more steps for the group photo. There’s no garden, but a short walk takes you to a riverside park with a wooden footbridge, weeping willows and wildflower grass, which is where we go for soft, green couple portraits.

Back inside, there’s a mirror ball over the dance floor, and the bar sees the rest of the night out.
