The Swan at Streatley

The Swan at Streatley sits right on the Thames, on the Berkshire bank, and the river is the best thing about it. Wherever you are during the day, you’re never far from the water. If you’re marrying at the church nearby, it’s an easy place to carry on the celebrations.

For portraits, the river bank has plenty to work with: an open lawn, a bench, the terrace, and the tiled gables of the inn if you’d like the building in the picture. There are reeds tall enough to stand in, too, which make a nice change from the lawn.

Inside, the function rooms are bright and modern, with big windows looking out over the river, so dinner is light and airy. When it gets dark the dancing stays indoors, and the terrace is where people slip out for a breather.
