Stonehouse Court Hotel

The arched stone entrance at Stonehouse Court is a spot we’d use all day. It’s deep and lamp-lit from inside, with bay topiary on either side, and it works for a bridal portrait with the train down the steps, a kiss under the arch, or the whole wedding party lined up across the steps. Once it’s dark and the front is floodlit, it becomes a different picture again.

If you’re marrying at the village church nearby, you’ll come back to the manor to celebrate. Indoors there’s a panelled fireplace, which is ideal for warming up and taking a few photos by the fire.

The house suits a winter wedding, too. The lamp-lit drive looks good in the rain with a few clear umbrellas, and on a frosty day the field out front catches the low sun.
