Slapton Manor

Slapton Manor is a working Northamptonshire farm and never pretends otherwise, which is exactly why it photographs well. You marry in the old threshing barn, timber trusses overhead, weathered walls and a curtain of fairy lights behind you. Outside, the farm offers more variety than a formal garden would: honey stone, a brick barn, lavender along a gravel path, a fallen log under trees, meadow grass, and a red vintage tractor we would use again in a heartbeat. The courtyard takes every guest from overhead and the stone steps under the arched door are where the confetti lands. Drinks happen out on the fold yard. Dinner and dancing move to the marquee, and that’s the last frame of the night as well, because the canvas glows against a blue-hour sky.
