The Petersham Hotel

The Petersham Hotel looks out from Richmond Hill over the Thames as it curves through the meadows below, and the terrace and garden steps put you right in front of that view. It’s what makes the couple portraits here look like nowhere else in London, and even on a misty day the river goes soft and grey behind you.

The ceremony room has bay windows, so it’s nice and bright, and its own terrace. It’s an intimate venue that suits a smaller wedding. A short walk down the hill there are brick walls, lavender and an ivy-clad iron gate for a few more portraits.

Inside, the stone staircase runs the full height of the building with nothing holding it up, so we can photograph you looking down it, up it, or in the mirror on the landing. It’s also a good alternative whenever the weather rules out the terrace.
