Nether Winchendon House
The long, tree-lined drive at Nether Winchendon House runs between stone gate piers, and it’s a great place to start your photos. Couples marry at the village church, a short walk away, which is panelled inside with carved heraldic shields, and then walk back through the gardens to the house.
The house itself is crenellated and a little unusual, and the lawn in front of it is wide enough for everybody in the group photo. For something quieter, the white iron footbridge over the water is ornate and narrow, with just enough room for you both. Old stone steps and an iron railing give us plenty more spots in between. In spring, wild daffodils come up through the orchard and across the grounds.
The timber-beamed hall hosts dinner and dancing, and it looks warm and inviting once the lighting goes on.
