Hawkwell House Hotel

Hawkwell House sits in three acres of grounds in Iffley, so everything from the ceremony to the last portrait is a short walk away. The ceremony room is light and neutral, with French doors onto the garden and an exposed stone wall behind you, which also works well with colour and uplighting later in the day.

Outside, there are old brick and stone garden walls, mature trees, an open lawn and a balustraded terrace under parasols, so there’s plenty of choice without leaving the grounds. In autumn the trees turn and the lawn fills with colour.

The best spot of all is the tree in the garden with fairy lights strung right through it. It’s a few steps from the door, and standing under it at dusk gives you one of the warmest photos of the day.
