Hampton Court House

Hampton Court House has a room for every part of the day. Hair and make-up are in a panelled library, and you can marry in a domed yellow room, or in a bay-window room hung with a tapestry, which has space for a mandap and enough daylight for a long ceremony. There’s also a columned hall with a grand piano, and two carved staircases, one barley-twist and one black, both worth stopping on.

Outside, clipped topiary, hydrangeas and lawn sit right on the edge of Bushy Park, giving you an easy loop to walk between courses. The shell grotto is the real surprise. Every surface is covered, floor to ceiling, and it’s small enough that you fill the frame.

Dinner and the dancing move to the conservatory, which has a glass roof and fairy lights. It’s bright all afternoon, and in the evening you can see it lit up from the garden.
