The Hampshire Court Hotel

The courtyard is the part of The Hampshire Court we’d use most. It’s sheltered, so the drinks happen out there whatever the Hampshire weather is doing, and it takes lighting well once the evening comes in. The rooms inside are bright and generously sized, one or two with timber beams, and there’s a choice of them, so the ceremony and the dinner scale to the number of people you’ve actually got. We shoot the vows on window light. There’s more outdoors here than anyone assumes when they book a four-star outside Basingstoke. Ornamental grasses run along the timber-clad side of the building, tall enough and loose enough that standing a couple among them gives you a soft green backdrop instead of a hotel wall. The decking and the balcony give you somewhere raised with clear sky behind. Last thing after dark is the lit gabled entrance, a clean simple frame to end on.
