Glenfall House

Glenfall House is full of good rooms, and the staircase is the best of them. It’s a big sweep of polished wood hung with bulb lights, and it looks just as good in morning daylight as it does late at night when the bulbs are lit. You get ready in quiet bedrooms with big windows, so there’s soft light for the dress and a calm start to the day.

The ceremony is in the drawing room, by a bay window, and you sign the register with the garden right outside the glass. Then it’s out to the front steps for the confetti and a photo with all your guests.

For portraits, the gardens give you a rose garden, cottage borders, a dry-stone wall and an ivy-topped stone archway, plus an old tree with a rope swing hanging from it, which is very hard to resist. When night falls the house lights up, and standing in the doorway together is a good way to end the day.
