Farnham Castle - wedding photography

Farnham Castle gives you two very different settings: the castle buildings for the ceremony and the party, and a ruined keep for the most striking portraits of the day. Ceremonies are held in a plain, simple stone-arched hall with a wooden floor.

Dinner is served under a chandelier, with a carved oak overmantel behind the top table for the speeches. The dancing is beneath oil paintings by the staircase, so even the party photos have the castle in them. Outside, the lawns stretch out towards open countryside, with room for lawn games and a photo of the whole guest list in one long line.

Do give us twenty minutes at the keep. It has rough stone walls and worn steps to trail your dress down, and from the top you both look tiny against the sky. It’s at its best late in the day, when the low sun warms the stone. When night comes, the brick gatehouse is lit up, and its archway is the place for your last portrait.
