Dovecote Events

There’s a wooden arch out in the field at Dovecote Events, ribbons trailing off it, and it’s the one spot we use twice. In the afternoon it gives you couple portraits with nothing but Oxfordshire countryside behind, and after dark it’s lit, with sparklers going along the boardwalk, so the same place comes back looking like somewhere else entirely. The ceremony was inside the brick barn, oak beams and fairy lights and draped fabric behind the celebrant, warm enough that we add almost nothing to it, though the Paddock outside is licensed through summer. The three linked tipis are where the evening happens - foliage chandeliers, festoon lights, a band at one end, and canvas that goes properly amber once it’s dark, which flatters everybody on the dance floor. The stone terrace and steps take your group shots, and there’s open grass in every direction if we want to walk you further out. Stay out for the last few minutes, because the tipis glow from the inside and the boardwalk lights run straight up to them.
