Delapré Abbey

At Delapré Abbey, the library is where you marry, lined with books and with one big arched window along one side. If your wedding is in December, a tree in the corner and candles on the windowsills make it feel warm and lamplit.

Everything else is just a few steps away: panelled rooms with marble fireplaces, chandeliers, a piano, and a long table by the fire for dinner, so the photos never look like they were all taken in one room. The confetti is under the arched stone porch, which keeps everyone sheltered.

For portraits, the walled garden has brick walls, gravel paths and clipped yews that keep their shape even in winter, and the high walls keep the wind off you. Later, we’ll take you back to the porch with the lanterns lit.
