The Cotswolds Hotel & Spa keeps the whole day in one place, so nobody has to drive anywhere. The ballroom is draped and glazed, which keeps the ceremony bright and the reception easy to photograph, and the terrace outside is licensed too if you’d rather marry in the open air.

The golf course wraps right round the building, so there’s no fence or car park behind you in the portraits, just open Oxfordshire countryside. The long meadow grass at the edges is the best of it, especially late in the day when the sun comes through it sideways. A short stroll off there’s a lake with reeds and a small wooden jetty, and there’s enough fairway to line up a hundred guests without anyone squeezing in.
