At Ardington House you marry outdoors, under the dome of the stone temple on the lawn, with open Oxfordshire parkland behind you. It’s an outdoor venue at heart, with the house in the middle of it all, and you get the whole place to yourselves, so we never have to wait for another party to clear a spot.

The lawn fits every guest into one picture, with the brick front of the house behind them. For quieter moments, we’ll take you down to the pond, where there’s a wooden footbridge, reeds and the house reflected in the water. If the sky turns, there’s a panelled room and a staircase inside.

Try to keep the last half hour of light free. The parkland opens to the west, so as the sun goes down you become silhouettes against the sky.
