“When will my photos be ready?” We get it - you’re itching to see them. The short version: most couples have their digital files within six weeks of the wedding, and their printed album within four months. Very often it’s quicker; at the busiest points of the season it can take longer. Here’s what’s actually going on behind the scenes.
Once your wedding’s over, this is what happens next:
- We send you a sneak peek. The day after the wedding you’ll get a set of 40-60 of our favourites, so you’ve got something to enjoy and share while the rest is still being worked on. It takes the sting out of the wait.
- We edit and retouch your photos. We only work on one wedding at a time, so nothing gets rushed. The editing itself usually takes one to two weeks, depending on the wedding. From late summer into early autumn there’s usually a backlog, so your wedding may wait its turn before editing starts. As soon as the photos are ready, we put them in a private online gallery so you can look, share and download straight away.
- We edit your video (if you booked one). We don’t start your film until the photos are done, so whatever the wait was for those, the film comes after it - usually another week or two on top, depending on your package. It goes into the same gallery.
- We sort out your album (if you ordered one). Once your photos are done, we’ll ask about your preferences and send you a design to approve. How long this bit takes is really down to you - reply quickly and it flies by; take your time and the album simply arrives a bit later.
- We send the album to print (if you ordered one). Once you’ve signed off the design, it goes to the print lab. Your album is made by hand and shipped from abroad, so between manufacture and postage it can take up to two months.
